
NICHOLAS GRIFFIN (Screenplay) was born in Pasadena, California,
the grandson of veteran movie director William A. Seiter ("Sons of the
Desert", with Laurel and Hardy, "Roberta", with Astaire and
Rogers, and "Room Service", starring the Marx Brothers) and actress
Marion Nixon (best known for Rebecca of "Sunnybrook Farm").
"Matchstick Men" is his first produced screenplay.
Griffin, who began writing scripts while still a youngster, graduated from
the renowned UCLA Film School, where he received the Dorothy Arzner Award
for undergraduate filmmaking. He landed his first industry job as production
assistant for Stephen J. Cannell Studios, working on such television shows
as "The A-Team" and "Hunter".
